Our Story
The West River Valley RSWMD and Green Source Recycling is the primary governmental agency in charge of solid waste management within Conway, Crawford, Franklin, Johnson, Logan, Scott, Perry, Pope and Yell Counties. In addition to this nine county solid waste district, we also administer the ten county Inter-District Waste Tire Program, which consists of our solid waste counties plus Sebastian County. Our main role is to provide technical assistance to local governments, businesses, industry and individuals on solid waste management, recycling and all other areas of integrated solid waste management. In addition, we provide educational programs to both schools and the general public on solid waste management issues. Finally, we operate programs such as electronic waste recycling, waste tire management and household hazardous waste management.
